About The Position

Touchmark on South Hill is seeking a creative and compassionate Life Enrichment Coordinator to join their team, focusing on the new Claremont and Pembrook neighborhoods. This role involves enriching residents' lives by assisting in the planning, creation, and implementation of an activities program designed to meet the physical, cognitive, social, and spiritual needs of residents. The position offers daily opportunities to encourage and motivate others and be a positive presence in the lives of residents and their families. The starting wage is $20/hr and up.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to provide an annual driving record with favorable results.
• Genuine interest in caring for elderly residents and working in a geriatric environment.
• Commitment to confidentiality regarding resident status and medical history.
• Ability to maintain patient and tactful composure when dealing with residents, family members, staff members, and visitors.
• Food Handler’s Permit.

Nice To Haves

• Recreation Therapy student or graduate preferred.
• Experience working with dementia residents highly preferred.
• Experience working with a social or recreational activities program in a health care setting.
• Experience working with people living with dementia.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the planning, creation, and implementation of an activities program.
• Meeting the physical, cognitive, social, and spiritual needs of residents.
• Encouraging and motivating others.
• Being a positive presence in the lives of residents and their families.
• Arranging, organizing, and assisting with activities such as holiday and birthday celebrations, social events, and exercise programs.
