About The Position

The Life Enrichment Assistant plays an integral role in the Life Enrichment and Resident Activities programs at Saratoga Retirement Community, a 94-bed skilled nursing facility. The position helps plan and deliver enjoyable, enriching, collaborative programming that supports residents’ social, physical, and emotional needs.

The assistant works with the Life Enrichment Director, Coordinators, volunteers, and other staff to provide resident activities and interacts compassionately and professionally with residents, families, coworkers, managers, and other departmental personnel.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, and work successfully in a multicultural environment.
• Current First Aid training and certifications as required under Title 22.
• Successful completion of a background check.
• Additional pre-employment screenings, including a drug screen, physical examination, and TB test, may be required in accordance with applicable state and local guidelines.

Nice To Haves

• Background or experience in art therapy or recreational therapy.
• Education or experience in gerontology or working with older adults.
• One or more years of experience in a long-term care setting, home care, or a related field.
• Bilingual proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and implement daily activities that meet residents’ recreational needs and provide meaningful stimulation.
• Work with the Life Enrichment Director, Coordinators, volunteers, and other staff to provide programming that supports residents’ social, physical, and emotional well-being.
• Interact with residents, families, coworkers, managers, and other departmental personnel in a kind, professional, and compassionate manner.
