About The Position

The Life Enrichment Aide helps to engage dementia residents in enjoyable activities, providing stimulation and socialization. This is a full-time position. The typical shift is 9:00am-6:00pm Monday - Friday. James L. West offers specialized, compassionate, and life-enhancing care at every stage of Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or memory loss. The not-for-profit James L. West participates in Alzheimer's research and training and it offers a day program, community education and outreach, and mentoring and training to the medical and healthcare communities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Passion for working with the elderly.
• Desire to help others.
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Evidence of effective problem resolution skills
• Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
• Ability to be organized and efficient
• Ability and willingness to act as a role model in conduct and appearance
• Resourcefulness
• Willingness to consider the advice and opinions of others
• Ability to make decisions and accept responsibility for the consequences
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Basic computer skills
