About The Position

Responsible for the custody and security of detainees in the facility in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and customer directives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, minimum of three (3) years’ experience in an adult correctional or detention facility environment or related field required
• At least 21 years of age and a US Citizen or Lawful US Permanent Resident required.
• One (1) year of prior experience is required to be in a supervisory capacity.
• Must successfully complete required preservice training.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

Responsibilities

• Serve as shift supervisor.
• May be assigned to housing or administrative duties as applicable.
• Coordinate activities of offender orientation, arrival and discharge.
• Prepare pre-release detainees for release.
• Coordinate the completion of all necessary paperwork.
• Conduct interviews and counseling sessions as assigned.
• Monitors intake photo and identification activities.
• Supervise, protect, instruct, train, counsel, and evaluate assigned employees and detainees; schedule employees’ and detainees’ work and off-duty time; assist in formulating security and work procedures.
• Supervise and direct searches for contraband and provide security.
• Read, review, and properly apply information found in detainee records which is related to the detainees’ health and safety and to the security of the facility.
• Provide appropriate information to other personnel.
