LIEUTENANT (Correctional Complex)
About The Position
As the Lieutenant you will be responsible for the supervision of staff in the security and operation of the facility as set forth in the Policy and Procedures and other applicable directives of the ACACC. In the absence of the Warden, or the duty officer as named by the Warden, you will serve as the Shift Commander assuming full command of the complex. This position is classified as Essential Personnel and as such must report to work regardless of the weather conditions. The primary function of this position is to oversee the daily operations of the facility to include safety, security, and the supervision of subordinate staff and the inmate population.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- At least 2 years’ experience as a Corrections Officer in a prison setting.
- Valid driver’s license
- PA Department of Corrections Basic Training Certificate
- Internal applicants must pass the Policy and Procedure Test with a score of 90% or higher.
- External applicants must pass the Policy and Procedure Test with a score of 90% or higher within 6 months of hire date.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable subject (criminal justice, psychology, sociology, drug and alcohol treatment, etc.) helpful.
