About The Position

Meritus Solutions Group is seeking experienced Armed Guard Supervisors (Lieutenants) to oversee armed security operations supporting Naval Base Kitsap (NBK). The Lieutenant is responsible for supervising armed security personnel, maintaining operational readiness, ensuring compliance with federal security requirements, and supporting daily contract operations in accordance with government regulations, post orders, and company procedures. This position reports directly to the Contract Manager and requires strong leadership skills, professionalism, sound judgment, and demonstrated supervisory experience within military, law enforcement, or security operations environments.

Requirements

  • Be a U.S. Citizen
  • Possess a valid Driver's License
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
  • Be Lautenberg compliant
  • Successfully pass a Federal background investigation
  • Successfully pass a Drug screening
  • Successfully pass a Medical evaluation
  • Successfully pass a Psychological evaluation
  • Have a minimum of five (5) years of military police, law enforcement, or security experience
  • Have a minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience
  • Possess 20/20 correctable vision in each eye
  • Be able to distinguish basic colors and hear conversational speech clearly
  • Be physically capable of performing all required duties and annual Physical Agility Testing (PAT)
  • Interpret and enforce Entry Control Point (ECP) regulations and site-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions in dynamic situations
  • Lead personnel effectively in high-security environments
  • Maintain professionalism during routine operations and emergency situations
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Maintain confidentiality and operational security
  • Complete reports, logs, and required documentation accurately
  • Successfully maintain all required certifications, qualifications, and training requirements

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct armed guard personnel assigned to shift operations
  • Conduct daily shift briefings and operational updates
  • Perform unannounced post inspections and quality assurance reviews
  • Ensure personnel maintain required certifications, qualifications, and site-specific training
  • Conduct orientation and onboarding for newly assigned officers
  • Coordinate staffing assignments and ensure coverage during meal periods and absences
  • Administer corrective action and document performance concerns as appropriate
  • Respond to emergencies and coordinate response actions in accordance with post orders and established procedures
  • Enforce federal security regulations, installation policies, company policies, and contract requirements
  • Coordinate call-ins, staffing adjustments, and shift coverage to maintain uninterrupted operations
  • Review and evaluate incident reports, logs, and required documentation
  • Maintain accountability and inventory control of weapons, equipment, and restricted items
  • Support contract leadership with personnel management and operational planning
  • Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and communication style at all times
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by contract leadership
