About The Position

The psychiatric triage clinician is responsible for evaluating patients in the NWH Emergency Department to determine the appropriate level of care. Evaluations are conducted after medical clearance and include direct assessment of the patient, as well as engagement with family members or support persons when available. Collateral information is obtained as needed to inform disposition planning. For patients requiring inpatient admission, the triage clinician enters the ADT 34 order, and the central team conducts the bed search. Communication with the central team occurs via Teams chat. The clinician communicates the disposition plan to the ED provider and nurse and completes all required transfer documentation, including EMTALA and Section 12 forms. The psychiatric triage clinician works with a consulting psychiatrist for case review with discussion regarding diagnosis, safety assessment, and disposition planning.

Requirements

• LICSW/LMHC Required
• Full-time, 40 hours/week
• Sunday through Thursday schedule
• Flexibility to provide holiday coverage is strongly preferred.
