About The Position

The Licensing Team Lead oversees daily licensing operations to ensure full compliance with state and regulatory requirements for internal and external agents. This role supports the licensing team, manages internal licensed agents, the MGA licensing workflows, and maintains accurate DRLP assignments. Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to lead and collaborate are essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree, or 4 years of experience in lieu of
  • 2+ years of insurance licensing experience
  • Strong understanding of DRLP requirements, DOI regulations, and NIPR processes.
  • Experience in a multi‑state insurance environment.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, adapt quickly, and meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Prior licensing leadership experience.
  • Familiarity with licensing platforms (Sircon, NIPR, AgentSync, Salesforce, ProducerFlow).
  • Experience partnering with Compliance and Legal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee internal agent renewals, appointments, terminations, and MGA renewals.
  • Maintain and update DRLP assignments and monitor regulatory changes.
  • Ensure compliance with DOI regulations, NIPR processes, and internal standards.
  • Review and approve escalated filings and exception cases.
  • Manage agency service items (changes, terminations, email updates) and ensure data accuracy.
  • Assist internal agents with CE requirements and renewal needs.
  • Conduct routine audits to maintain accurate licensing records.
  • Supervise, coach, and support licensing specialists.
  • Train team members on licensing workflows, regulatory requirements, and DRLP guidelines.
  • Manage workload distribution and foster a collaborative, solutions‑focused environment.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline licensing procedures.
  • Partner with Compliance, Legal, HR, and leadership to support onboarding and ongoing producer management.
  • Support enhancements to licensing systems and NIPR integrations.
  • Maintain accurate records, dashboards, and documentation.
  • Prepare reports on licensing status and risk areas for leadership review.
  • Assist with audits, reviews, and remediation efforts.
