Thompson, founded in 1886, is an organization operating across the Carolinas, Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky, with a continuum of care encompassing prevention, mental health services, and foster care. All programs are trauma-informed and evidence-based/evidence-informed, aiming to build resilience in clients (ages 0-18) and their families, both virtually and in person. The Licensing Supervisor in the Foster Care department provides leadership, oversight, and support to Licensing and Training Specialists. This role ensures foster home recruitment, licensing, compliance, and support activities meet regulatory standards and organizational expectations. The supervisor will oversee workflows, monitor performance and outcomes, provide coaching and supervision, and ensure licensing activities are completed accurately, timely, and in a trauma-informed manner consistent with Thompson’s CARE principles. A typical day involves reviewing licensing and re-licensing status reports, conducting individual supervision and coaching, reviewing foster home files, supporting recruitment strategy, addressing barriers impacting licensing timelines, and collaborating with program leadership and system partners. Responsibilities may also include scheduling coverage, responding to urgent licensing issues, supporting staff development, and participating in operational or quality review meetings. This role is typically community-based or hybrid, requiring flexibility for some evenings or occasional weekends for orientations, trainings, or recruitment activities, while maintaining standard business hours for supervision, meetings, and compliance.
