About The Position

The Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) is on a mission to provide the best customer experience possible as we build Virginia’s workforce, helping qualified people of all backgrounds start businesses and work in their chosen fields. As a Licensing Specialist, you will play a key role in Virginia’s economic vitality. The Licensing Specialist processes applications and changes for licensure/certification from businesses and individuals for the regulatory boards assigned to each section. This position provides telephone coverage and provides thorough and accurate information related to the statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures for the boards to which it is assigned. In this position, you will serve as Licensing Specialist for the Board section of our Real Estate division. This posting may be used to fill Licensing Specialist vacancies in other sections should the need arise within 90 days of the close date.

  • Proficiency in the use of computer software applications.
  • Experience with preparation of written correspondence.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and data entry preferred.
  • Experience in a regulatory environment preferred.
