About The Position

Overview: The Sales Director oversees a team of Sales Managers and Sales Associates who support licensing sales initiatives by client. The Director will develop and execute effective sales and prospecting strategies, build strong relationships with clients and licensees, and effectively manage the portfolio of clients. Team Management: Responsible for day to day management of Sales Managers and Sales Associates including mentoring and feedback to foster growth and development Collaborate with the head of sales to foster a positive team culture and provide support in building an effective sales team. Provide coaching and support to sales managers during deal negotiation and closing processes, as needed. Fostering trusted teamwork cross functionally, with management and with junior employees which includes communication, collaboration, empowerment, and inclusion Key Responsibilities: Sales Strategy and Negotiation Spearhead the sales strategy for each client and present to Head of Sales for approval Identify challenges and propose solutions to the head of sales to enhance overall sales strategy. Develop specific strategies tailored to the clients within your portfolio, ensuring their unique needs are addressed. Set the strategy for trade shows and attend key meetings as necessary. Identify and leverage multiple client opportunities for more strategic sales opportunities. Review and approve prospecting lists, leveraging existing relationships where relevant. Work on complex contract negotiations and proposal development for new prospects in partnership with support from legal team and Sales Director. Client Relationship Management Serve as the face of the sales team, maintaining a professional and knowledgeable presence when interacting with clients. Build and nurture relationships with clients, acting as the main point of contact and developing individualized client strategies. Conduct meetings with senior licensee and client partners to strengthen relationships and explore new business opportunities. Expedites the resolution of client/licensee issues Cross Functional Management: Create and manage budgets for each client, ensuring effective allocation of resources. Interface with the VP of legal to ensure efficiency in contract and deal flow processes. Prepare high-level state-of-the-business reporting and share it with the head of sales and clients. Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor’s Degree 10+ years of experience in sales, licensing sales preferred Focus on relationship building and nurturing rather than aggressive selling 3+ years of team management experience Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically Excellent presentation skills and communication skills Excellent relationship building skills Strong understanding of client and licensee relationship and processes Analytical mindset and ability to review and interpret data to drive action Ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies Office schedule and Travel: Our office is located in the Flatiron District of NYC and the role requires all employees to be in the office Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. The role also requires travel to clients as needed and attendance at relevant trade shows, Licensing show, and others. Salary Range: $125,000-$150,000

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 10+ years of experience in sales, licensing sales preferred
  • Focus on relationship building and nurturing rather than aggressive selling
  • 3+ years of team management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically
