About The Position

This role offers the opportunity to directly impact children and families by strengthening foster homes, supporting caregivers, and ensuring compliance with state licensing standards. You will play a vital role in maintaining safe, stable placements for children in care.Position Summary: The Licensing & Recruitment Specialist serves as the primary liaison to prospective, unlicensed, and licensed foster families. This role guides families through the licensing and relative assessment process, ensures compliance with state requirements, and provides ongoing support to maintain stable foster homes in accordance with Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and Division of Child Welfare Licensing standards.

Requirements

  • Pass criminal and CPS background checks
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Proof of current auto insurance
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframes
  • Bachelor's Degree (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Guide families through foster home licensing and relative caregiver assessments
  • Complete annual foster home re-licensing and renewals
  • Submit required documentation to state licensing
  • Process background checks, fingerprinting, and clearances
  • Conduct home visits and provide ongoing caregiver support
  • Assist with foster parent recruitment and orientation
  • Coordinate and attend recruitment events
  • Maintain accurate licensing files and documentation
  • Provide on-call and emergency support as assigned
  • Attend court hearings when necessary
