About The Position

The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Child and Family Services Division. This position directly supervises the division’s Family Resource Specialist Supervisors, manages foster care licensing statewide, and develops and plans the organizational structure for the licensing, recruiting, and training of foster and adoptive homes. The position also develops policies and procedures for the licensing of child placing agencies and foster and adoptive homes, including home studies; develops efficient, statewide licensing procedures; and develops strategies and procedures for the recruitment and retention of foster homes statewide. This position directly supervises 8 staff and indirectly supervises 30 staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, sociology, education, business, or human services related field
  • Seven years social services program management to include child protection services and licensing
  • Three years of experience supervising and/or managing programs, work units and staff, and budgets

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with tribal government entities and/or other Native American organizations is preferred
  • Other combinations of related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis
