About The Position
The Sub-Acute Licensed Vocational Nurse performs a variety of skilled nursing duties under the direction of Registered Nurses and physicians. This role is responsible for supporting patient care plans, administering treatments and medications, monitoring patient conditions, assisting with activities of daily living, and providing compassionate, patient-centered care. The ideal candidate is clinically competent, team-oriented, and committed to creating a safe, comfortable, and healing environment for patients and their families.
Requirements
- Current, active, and unrestricted California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) License
- At least One year of knowledge and experience in sub-acute care, long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or acute care settings
- Graduate of an accredited Vocational Nursing program or equivalent
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- IV Certification within 12 months of hire
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to maintain composure and adaptability in changing clinical situations
- Current AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Current AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Bilingual communication skills
Responsibilities
- Administer medications and treatments within LVN scope of practice.
- Assist with examinations, procedures, and therapeutic interventions.
- Perform basic IV management when appropriately certified.
- Monitor patient conditions and promptly report changes in status.
- Utilize aseptic techniques for wound care, dressings, and other clinical procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), hygiene, mobility, and comfort measures.
- Provide compassionate care while preserving dignity, privacy, and independence.
- Foster a safe and clean patient environment.
- Support infection prevention practices and HIPAA compliance.
- Accurately obtain and record vital signs and patient observations.
- Document treatments, interventions, and patient responses in accordance with organizational standards.
- Assist with specimen collection, patient transportation, and positioning.
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation.
