About The Position
TK Health is a correctional healthcare provider seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their team. The role involves providing patient care within jails and detention centers, overseeing day-to-day healthcare operations. This position offers the opportunity to utilize medical skills in a safe, secure, and unconventional environment. All offers are contingent upon clear results of a thorough background check.
Requirements
- Current LVN or LPN license in the State of Texas
- Current CPR certification
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a secure correctional environment
- Ability to pass a background check
Nice To Haves
- Experience in correctional, emergency, or institutional healthcare preferred but not required
- New graduates are encouraged to apply
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care within the scope of LVN/LPN practice
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by the provider
- Monitor and document patient health status and medical needs
- Assist with intake screenings and medical assessments
- Respond to medical concerns and emergencies within the facility
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the medical record
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare staff to ensure continuity of care
- Follow TK Health policies, procedures, and correctional healthcare standards
