About The Position
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) will be responsible for providing direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician. This role involves monitoring patients, administering medications and treatments, assisting with daily living activities, and maintaining accurate documentation. The LVN will also play a role in educating patients and their families and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.
Requirements
- Strong patient care and communication skills
- Knowledge of nursing practices and medical terminology
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced healthcare environments
- Compassion, patience, and attention to detail
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to operate basic medical equipment
- Completion of an accredited Licensed Vocational Nursing program
- Active TX, LVN/LPN license in the state
Nice To Haves
- CPR/BLS certification preferred
- Previous clinical experience may be preferred by employers
Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patients’ vital signs and medical information
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Assist patients with bathing, dressing, eating, and personal hygiene
- Change wound dressings and provide basic wound care
- Collect samples for laboratory testing
- Observe patients and report changes in condition to RNs or physicians
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Educate patients and families about healthcare needs and treatment plans
- Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients
- Assist physicians and registered nurses during examinations and procedures
