About The Position

Under the supervision of the Unit Director and clinical leadership of the Emergency Department, the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides nursing care to pediatric patients within a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center. The LVN functions as a member of the multidisciplinary trauma and emergency care team and provides patient-centered care within the scope of LVN practice under the direction of Registered Nurses and physicians. The LVN supports the delivery of high-quality emergency and trauma care for infants, children, adolescents, and their families. Responsibilities include assisting with triage preparation, patient intake, monitoring patient status, performing clinical procedures, administering medications within scope, preparing patients for diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, and supporting trauma resuscitation activities. Care is delivered in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and is tailored to the patient’s physiological, psychological, and developmental needs. The LVN demonstrates strong clinical judgment, effective communication, and compassion while interacting with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members. The LVN maintains professionalism while supporting diverse populations including patients, families, physicians, trauma teams, and hospital leadership in urgent and high-stress clinical situations.

Requirements
