About The Position

HJ Staffing is seeking dedicated and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) for full-time travel contract opportunities. The position involves advanced vocational nursing work, delivering care, treatment, and ongoing support to individuals with intellectual disabilities, complex medical conditions, and behavioral health needs. This is a six-month contract, with potential options to extend. Start dates are flexible and require five days' advance notice upon clearance. The contract duration begins once all compliance and clearance requirements are met.

Multiple openings are available across day and evening shifts on a seven-day schedule, Sunday through Saturday, with alternating shifts to support facility needs. Day shifts run from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with six openings; evening shifts run from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with two openings. Comprehensive training on facility computer systems is provided.

Requirements

• Hold an active, unrestricted Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license from the State of Texas or an active compact state license.
• Have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
• Meet all Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) immunization requirements.
• Successfully pass HHSC-required drug screening.
• Complete HHSC fingerprinting and background checks.
• Complete required facility and HHSC onboarding training.

Responsibilities

• Safely administer medications and treatments.
• Educate patients on medication regimens.
• Maintain thorough clinical documentation.
• Accurately enter and track patient data in facility computer systems.
• Follow facility Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ICF-IDD Regulations, DSSLC Policies and Directives, and Texas HHSC Standards, Rules, and Directives.
