About The Position

On-site Prenatal Clinic and Infusion Center are looking for top skilled LVN. Work location: Texas Health HEB, 1600 Hospital Parkway in Bedford, TX 76022. Work hours: Full Time, Evening Shift (3p to 3a), 3 shifts, 36 hours per week. Rotating holiday and weekend requirements. Department highlights: No weekend requirements for this role. The professional LVN exhibits understanding of basic human needs as well as demonstrates recognition and understanding of patient’s affiliations. We specialize in women’s services, perioperative services, heart and vascular care, acute care/med surg, intermediate care/step-down, oncology and emergency medicine. Additional specialties include nuclear medicine, interventional radiology, respiratory therapy, and neuroscience care, including neurosurgery and stroke. Texas Health HEB is ANCC Magnet Designated, Joint Commission-certified in Chest Pain (PHAC), a Primary Stroke Center, a Level III Trauma Center, Level II NICU and Level III for maternal care. Requirements

  • LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse required for Texas.
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly, required.
  • CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention training within 90 days of hire, required.
  • 6 (six) months previous experience in an acute care hospital setting or completion of a THR residency program, required.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with team to facilitate hourly rounding and initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information.
  • Takes action to reduce/eliminate patient risks.
  • Collects data and reports significant findings to RN.
  • Safely administers medication in accordance with medication administration guidelines.
  • Uses nursing model to obtain adequate data to initiate, implement, and revise plan of care to meet patient, physician, and family needs.
  • Individualizes care measures to reflect specific patient population. Performs technical procedures safely and proficiently.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking.
  • Adheres to national safety goals in care delivery.
  • Monitors patients.
  • Works in partnership with peers, other disciplines, and unlicensed assistive personnel.
  • Actively participates in formal and informal teaching and evaluation to strengthen clinical competence of self and team members.
  • Uses Unit Based Council structure.
  • Flexible with scheduling to help meet departmental/patient needs.
  • Adapts to changes in workload assignment to meet changing needs of the individual patient or the unit.
