This role is for a Full-Time Licensed Vocational Nurse / Licensed Psychiatric Technician at a Crisis Residential Treatment Facility in Fresno, CA. The facility is a 24/7 inpatient voluntary program with a 16-bed capacity for adults (ages 18-59), offering rehabilitation/recovery services, including substance use rehabilitation, pre-vocational or vocational counseling, and medication evaluation and support services. Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED, HiSET, etc.) required
- One (1) year nursing experience required, preferably treating the mentally ill in an inpatient setting. (Clinical nursing school rotations may be substituted for a portion of work experience.)
- Valid California LVN or LPT license required.
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree in nursing or social science field preferred.
- One (1) year medication administration experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct nursing care and supervises same provided by all nursing staff on the shift worked.
- Makes written or oral shift assignments and plans, organizes, and directs the nursing activities of the unit, assuring quality care delivery.
- Visually and audibly observes, documents in writing, and reports orally or in writing the physical or mental condition to the Program Manager and the attending physician or nurse practitioner.
- Orders, prepares, administers, and documents the administration of medication for clients according to physicians’ or nurse practitioners’ orders.
- Confirms delivery of all ordered medication from pharmacy on shift worked.
- Responsible for writing a weekly summary on clients as assigned.
- Monitors and maintains appropriate nursing documentation in the medical record for shift worked.
