About The Position
Provide one-on-one skilled care to children of all ages who have developmental disabilities. This role involves providing respite care for families, managing medical needs such as g-tube care, feeding, administering medication, checking blood sugar, and seizure management. The position also requires documenting nursing notes, supporting clients and their families, and monitoring/reporting changes in client care or behavior.
Requirements
- Must have one year of experience
- Active CA. LVN License
- CPR certification
- Physical within the last 6 months and recent TB test
- Current TB test, current physical, Valid CPR card and First Aide (within 30 days of hire)
- Clear criminal background
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Trach Care is not required
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 respite care for families of a child or adult with developmental disabilities
- Gastronomy Tube (g-tube) Care and Feeding
- Take vital signs and administer medication
- Trach Care (very rarely, do not need to have experience in this)
- Check blood sugar and administer insulin injection
- Seizure Management – may need to give medication if ordered and ensure safety
- Document on nursing notes every visit
- Be a support to clients and their family members
- Monitor and report changes in client care and/or behavior
