Requirements
- Minimum of (1) year of experience within the last three (3) years as a licensed practical nurse.
- A.S. Degree from an Accredited Nursing School Program.
- A current license in at least one (1) state, territory, or commonwealth in the U.S. or the District of Columbia.
- Current certification in BLS (Basic Life Support).
Responsibilities
- Provides direct care to assigned patients, including monitoring their condition, changing dressings, administering medications, and assisting with daily living activities.
- Report any changes in the patient's condition to the Registered Nurse (RN).
- Educate patients and families on medications and equipment usage.
- Record patient information accurately in the medical chart, including vital signs, responses to treatment, and care provided.
- Report observations about the patient's physical and emotional state.
- Assists with various medical procedures and tests, such as collecting samples and positioning patients.
- Recognize and respond to emergency situations, including cardiopulmonary arrest and disruptive behavior.
- Care for patients requiring constant observation.
- Prepare, administer, and document prescribed medications according to policy.
- Observe and report patient reactions to medications.
- Secure and manage narcotic medications.
- Report to the RN about completed tasks, patient changes, and remaining care needs.
- Collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure patient care coordination.
