Requirements

Current unrestricted Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN) license valid in the State of Texas, required
Current CPR/BLS Certification (in-person only), required
Negative TB skin test or chest x-ray within past year, required
Minimum one (1) year of documented experience in a home health agency, primary care clinic or health facility, required
Current and valid Texas Driver's License, required
Current and valid automobile insurance, required
Must be able to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push and pull. Varied assistance is required depending on the mobility of the client.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Provide professional nursing care including, but not limited to, the following:
Monitor patient's condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice.
Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections etc.) and document all care provided.
Adjust and administer patient's medication and provide treatments according to physician's orders.
Provide instant medical care in emergencies; Counsel client and family through care process while updating the family on a regular basis.
Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families.
Keep other licensed clinical professionals informed on items related to the patient's care.
Monitor and track changes in the client/patient's condition and needs, and keeps the Director of Nursing and any other appropriate personnel informed.
