Requirements

  • Current unrestricted Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN) license valid in the State of Texas, required
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification (in-person only), required
  • Negative TB skin test or chest x-ray within past year, required
  • Minimum one (1) year of documented experience in a home health agency, primary care clinic or health facility, required
  • Current and valid Texas Driver's License, required
  • Current and valid automobile insurance, required
  • Must be able to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push and pull. Varied assistance is required depending on the mobility of the client.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care including, but not limited to, the following:
  • Monitor patient's condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice.
  • Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections etc.) and document all care provided.
  • Adjust and administer patient's medication and provide treatments according to physician's orders.
  • Provide instant medical care in emergencies; Counsel client and family through care process while updating the family on a regular basis.
  • Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families.
  • Keep other licensed clinical professionals informed on items related to the patient's care.
  • Monitor and track changes in the client/patient's condition and needs, and keeps the Director of Nursing and any other appropriate personnel informed.
