About The Position

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) working double weekends from 2 PM to 10 PM plays a critical role in delivering high-quality nursing care to patients within a healthcare facility. This position focuses on providing direct patient care, monitoring patient health status, and assisting with medical procedures under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians. The LVN ensures that patients' needs are met efficiently during weekend shifts, contributing to continuous and consistent care. This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently during the designated hours. Ultimately, the LVN supports the healthcare team in promoting patient well-being and safety while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.

Requirements

  • Current and valid Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in Texas.
  • Completion of an accredited vocational nursing program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Proven ability to work the specified double weekend shifts from 2 PM to 10 PM.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The LVN utilizes clinical nursing skills daily to assess patient conditions, administer medications, and provide treatments safely and effectively.
  • Strong communication skills are essential for coordinating with healthcare team members and educating patients and their families about care plans.
  • Time management and organizational skills help the LVN prioritize tasks during busy weekend shifts to ensure all patients receive timely attention.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records enables accurate documentation and information sharing.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are applied to recognize changes in patient status and respond appropriately to maintain patient safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a hospital, long-term care, or outpatient clinical setting.
  • Additional certifications such as IV therapy or wound care.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Prior experience managing patient care during weekend or evening shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and documenting patient information accurately.
  • Assist physicians and registered nurses with medical procedures and patient assessments during the weekend shifts.
  • Respond promptly to patient needs and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in compliance with healthcare policies and infection control standards.
