About The Position

Are you a Licensed Vocational Nurse looking for immediate part time work with a client in Katy, TX? This specific client assignment would be 2 to 3 days per week (weekdays) from 6:30 am until 2:30pm or 4:30pm (4:30 preferred). Other potential PDN shifts or visits available as well on PRN basis.

Requirements

• Current unrestricted LVN license in state of Texas
• 1+ years of experience on your license required
• Reliable transportation / valid drivers license / auto insurance
• Current CPR/ BLS
• Negative TB test

Nice To Haves

• 1+ years' Home Care experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform care as defined by client’s individual Plan of Care and within scope of state’s nurse practice act
• Monitor patient’s condition and notify appropriate personnel of any changes
• Providing treatments, and working collaboratively with the members of the team to help meet positive client care outcomes
• Provide accurate, detailed, and timely documentation consistent with the plan of care and the nursing process
• Conduct ongoing assessments
• Participate in health/therapeutic counseling, teaching and emotional support to the client and family/caregivers
• Prepare, administer, and appropriately document actions taken specific to commonly prescribed oral, topical, subcutaneous and intramuscular medications.
• Observe, report, and record adverse reactions to medications and/or treatment to the registered nurse
• Perform wound care and recognize the need for and institute emergency measures in a rapid and appropriate manner
• Follow principles of infection control and Universal Precautions
• Treat clients, family, and staff with courtesy and respect
