About The Position

Under supervision by an RN, a Dentist, or a member of the Medical Staff, the LVN is responsible for providing general nursing care to patients. May lead or mentor lower-level team members. This position may require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Experience working with patients with Alzheimer’s and the geriatric population
• Sorts, prioritizes, and manages patient messages and calls; manages the scheduling of patient appointments.
• Prepares patient for examination, sets up and maintains sterile field, and assists clinical staff with examinations and clinical care, and documents.
• Assists providers with procedures, performs patient discharges and verifies communication of instructions with patient and family.
• Maintains assigned work area with supplies and equipment, cleans, stocks and maintains exam rooms, procedure rooms, instruments and equipment; transports patients safely.
• Performs Point of Care Testing (POCT), documents and reports clinical findings to Registered Nurse (RN) in charge and/or Provider.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
