Under supervision by an RN, a Dentist, or a member of the Medical Staff, the LVN is responsible for providing general nursing care to patients. May lead or mentor lower-level team members. Functions within the required nursing process as defined by the Texas Nurse Practice Act. Supports the mission, vision and patient promise throughout all interactions. Communicates effectively, written and verbally. Possesses analytical thinking – this role requires analyzing information and using logic to coordinate work within schedule constraints and handle emergent requirements in a timely manner. Participates as an integral part of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in providing the highest quality of care to the patient.
