About The Position
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) delivers care to patients utilizing the LVN Process. This role involves triaging patient calls, communicating with providers, and utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care for cardiology patients. The LVN will collect patient data, prepare patient records, administer prescribed medications, and monitor treatment progress. This is a full-time position with day shifts, requiring travel to surrounding clinics.
Requirements
- LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse Upon Hire (required)
- Accredited School of Practical Nursing Program (required)
- ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire (required) or BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire (required)
- Knowledge of basic nursing processes and understanding of healthcare technology, equipment, and supplies
- Knowledge of state law on nursing care, nurse practice guidelines, and clinic policies and procedures
- Ability to effectively communicate to staff and patients
- Demonstrate sound judgment and composure
- Ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations
- Maintain a positive, caring attitude towards staff and patients
- Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism
- Efficient time management skills
Nice To Haves
- 1 year LVN experience (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Delivers care to patients utilizing the LVN Process.
- Triage patient calls and communicates with the provider.
- Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care provided to selected patient populations and their families.
- Performs specific nursing care as it relates to specialty of cardiology.
- Collects patient data such as vital signs, notes how the patient looks and acts or responds to stimuli and reports this information accordingly.
- Prepares patient records and files using established medical record forms/automated systems and documentation practices.
- Administers certain prescribed medications and monitors and documents treatment progress and patient response.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
