About The Position

The Staff Pad is partnering with a leading healthcare organization in Breckenridge, TX to hire experienced and qualified Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs). The role involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients in the Emergency, Medical-Surgical, and Ambulatory Care Services Departments. The LVN will report to the Primary Unit Nursing Director and Chief Nursing Officer, assessing patient needs, planning and modifying care, and implementing interventions as part of the healthcare team. The position may require working across different nursing units based on department and patient needs, and the LVN must practice within the scope of practice for each department. The schedule is full-time with 12-hour shifts, and multiple shifts are available.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program
  • Current Texas Board of Nursing LVN license or a Multi-state compact license
  • BLS certification required within 30 days of hire
  • ACLS and PALS certifications required within 90 days of hire
  • Ability to calculate medication dosages, IV rates, titration, and metric/standard conversions
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions, exercise judgment, and solve problems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, internet, and EMR systems
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs regularly and 150 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to manage stressful patient situations and respond effectively to patient and team needs
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Adaptability and ability to embrace and implement change
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Ability to teach, coach, and share knowledge effectively
  • Strong service-oriented approach and commitment to patient needs
  • Candidates must successfully pass a standard background check and drug screening as a condition of employment.

  • 1–2 years of hospital nursing experience preferred
  • Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

  • Administer prescribed medications and IV therapies; document times and amounts
  • Monitor, document, and report changes in patient conditions and take appropriate action
  • Provide basic patient care, treatments and nursing procedures per physician orders and care plans and respond to patient calls and determine appropriate assistance
  • Evaluate nursing intervention outcomes and collaborate with the healthcare team as needed
  • Set up, operate, and maintain patient care equipment
  • Prepare rooms, instruments, equipment, and supplies; maintain inventory
  • Record patient food and fluid intake and output
  • Prepare patients for examinations, tests, and treatments; explain procedures
  • Assist patients with moving, standing, and walking as needed
  • Direct or supervise nursing and ancillary staff as assigned
  • Provide patient care according to unit guidelines and demonstrate required competencies
  • Follow all hospital policies, procedures, Code of Ethics, and standards
  • Maintain patient and hospital confidentiality
  • Promote the mission, vision, and values of the hospital
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Promote a positive, welcoming, and supportive environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the RN, Director, CNO, or CEO
