About The Position

This is a unique opportunity for graduate LVNs to join the Texas Health LVN Residency Program, with the next cohort beginning on July 13, 2026. The program is integrated into the hospital's education structure and includes guided clinical experience with an instructor-led core curriculum, a formal mentoring program, debriefing/self-care sessions, and supportive 360-degree evaluations. Residents will gain experience on their selected home units and also rotate through other departments to expand their nursing skills. This comprehensive, evidence-based onboarding program has a 15-month employment commitment, designed to equip new LVNs with the experience, judgment, skills, and confidence needed to navigate hospital complexity.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program required.
Acceptance into THR residency program required.
LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse upon hire required.
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.

Nice To Haves

Graduated within the last 12 months preferred.
Less than one-year experience at the time the residency begins preferred.
Have not previously completed a THR nursing residency preferred.

Responsibilities

Participate in a guided clinical experience with an instructor-led core curriculum.
Engage in a formal mentoring program.
Attend informative debriefing/self-care sessions.
Participate in supportive 360-degree evaluations.
Gain experience on personally selected home units.
Rotate/cross train through other departments to gain expanded nursing experience.
Provide care for patients admitted with Acute Med/Surg diagnosis, urology, limb salvage, chronic wounds, GI focus, diabetes, respiratory overflow, and isolations.
Monitor general remote tele patients that require monitoring.
