About The Position

Responsibilities of the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) will encompass a wide range of both clinical and operational tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication, supporting both the healthcare provider and patients. In addition, the LVN will assist the Operations leadership with day-to-day support of onsite health clinics, including, but not limited to: client communication and facilitation and coordination of clinical supplies and lab services. This position supports a mobile team and some travel may be required.

Requirements

  • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification.
  • Valid and current Vocational Nurse license or equivalent in the state of practice.
  • Must have reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in an occupational healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with electronic medical record systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Welcomes patients by greeting them, in person or on the telephone, answering or referring to inquiries.
  • Prepares patients for the health care visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room; providing examination gowns and drapes; helping them to position themselves for the examination and/or treatment; arranging examining room instruments, supplies, and equipment.
  • Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; reviewing and/or recording medical history; taking vital signs; confirming purpose of visit or treatment.
  • Adhere to safety and infection control protocols.
  • Supports patient care delivery by helping health care providers during examinations; preparing laboratory specimens; performing basic laboratory tests on the premises; disposing of contaminated supplies; sterilizing medical instruments; administering medications on the premises; authorizing drug refills as directed; drawing blood; preparing patients for x-rays; taking electrocardiograms; removing sutures; changing dressings.
  • Conducting occupational health tests, including Audiometry, Spirometry, and fit testing. Be able to assist in the training of new staff members in conducting these tests.
  • Assist providers with workers' compensation injuries, administer first aid, and conduct drug screening and alcohol collection.
  • Maintain accurate records of all collections.
  • Assist in the coordination of patient care, management of referrals, scheduling appointments and coordinating services with other healthcare providers.
  • Communication with clients to service needs and requests. Assist with the investigation and resolution of complaints.
  • Communicate test results to patients and healthcare providers as directed.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and proper storage of PHI.
  • Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
  • Coordinate clinic logistics and equipment setup and breakdown at various work sites; travel to different work sites as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating motivation, reliability, organization, and punctuality.
