This role is for a Licensed Vocational Nurse / Licensed Psychiatric Technician at the Fresno Crisis Residential Treatment Facility. It is a 24/7 inpatient voluntary program, a 16-bed facility for adults (ages 18-59), offering rehabilitation/recovery services, including substance use rehabilitation services, pre-vocational or vocational counseling, and medication evaluation and support services. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED, HiSET, etc.) required.
  • One (1) year nursing experience required, preferably treating the mentally ill in an inpatient setting.
  • Valid California LVN or LPT license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in nursing or social science field preferred.
  • One (1) year medication administration experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct nursing care and supervises same provided by all nursing staff on the shift worked.
  • Makes written or oral shift assignments and plans, organizes, and directs the nursing activities of the unit, assuring quality care delivery.
  • Visually and audibly observes, documents in writing, and reports orally or in writing the physical or mental condition to the Program Manager and the attending physician or nurse practitioner.
  • Orders, prepares, administers, and documents the administration of medication for clients according to physicians’ or nurse practitioners’ orders.
  • Confirms delivery of all ordered medication from pharmacy on shift worked.
  • Responsible for writing a weekly summary on clients as assigned.
  • Monitors and maintains appropriate nursing documentation in the medical record for shift worked.
