About The Position

Adelphi is seeking Licensed Vocational Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses to provide nursing services at a facility in Washington County, Texas. The ideal candidate will support the care, treatment, and general welfare of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Requirements

Completion of an approved LVN/LPN program
Current, unencumbered LVN/LPN license to practice in Texas
Nursing experience in an acute or long-term care setting preferred
Current CPR certification preferred
Ability to commit to a 6-month assignment
Ability to work 40 hours per week, including 3 weekends per month
Must pass a background check and drug screening
Must attend all required orientation and nursing education sessions
Must be available for Orientation Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, for approximately 2 weeks.
Attendance is mandatory, and punctuality is required, as missed sessions may be difficult to reschedule.

Responsibilities

Perform vocational and practical nursing duties within the assigned scope of practice.
Provide care, treatment, and general support to individuals in a residential care setting.
Perform routine and non-routine nursing tasks to promote health, safety, and well-being.
Collect specimens for lab work and perform health screenings as needed.
Perform technical nursing procedures in accordance with applicable regulations and care standards.
Follow all applicable policies, procedures, and documentation requirements.
Support direct care staff by providing nursing guidance and instruction as needed.
Assist with on-the-job training for newly assigned nursing and support staff.
Monitor individual health needs and report changes in condition as appropriate.
Evaluate nursing interventions and provide input to the healthcare team.
Assist Registered Nurses with protocols, procedures, and programs that support health and safety.
Work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse while using sound judgment and initiative within the LVN/LPN scope of practice.
