The state supported living centers serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are medically fragile or who have behavioral problems. The centers provide campus-based direct services and supports at 13 centers located throughout the state. This role performs advanced vocational nursing work, providing care, treatment, and general welfare for individuals with complex medical, mental health, and/or behavioral health issues. The position involves performing routine and non-routine nursing tasks, collecting specimens, performing health screenings, and instructing staff on providing service and care. It also includes performing technical nursing procedures, providing direction and training to others, monitoring and assigning work to LVNs, and evaluating nursing intervention outcomes. The role works under the limited supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) with considerable latitude for initiative and independent judgment.
