Licensed Veterinary Technician
About The Position
Valhalla Animal Hospital is a well-established veterinary medicine provider in southern New York with over thirty years of experience. We are dedicated to providing high-standard service and personal, loving care to our clients and their pets, aiming for the highest customer satisfaction. We specialize in wellness, dentistry, surgical, and emergency care, serving as a one-stop solution for many pet owners. Our clinic is equipped with an in-house laboratory, pharmacy, and radiology for diagnostics, and we utilize laser therapy for pain reduction and faster recovery. We are currently expanding our team and seeking licensed veterinary technicians to support our growing team of DVMs.
Requirements
- Actively Licensed Veterinary Technician, or license eligible in the state of NY
- If not holding an active NY LVT license, must be eligible for taking the VTNE and pass it within 3 months of hire
- High work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work
- Some Saturday availability
- Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate precisely
- Interpret medical records and record client history accurately
- Knowledge in preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow
- Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner
- Proficient in sample collection (blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin)
- Ability to properly set-up and process laboratory samples and tests
- Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs
- Proficient in anesthesia and surgical monitoring
- A self-starter with the desire to continue to advance one’s knowledge and skillset
- Ability to receive constructive feedback in a professional manner to maintain hospital efficiency

- Positioning for dental radiographs are a plus
