About The Position

Mid-Columbia Pet Emergency Service is looking to add Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs) to their practice. They are interested in training a "Rockstar tech" in the skills required to save lives, even if the applicant only has foundational skills in restraint, venipuncture, IVC placement, and collecting accurate vitals. Newly licensed technicians are encouraged to apply and will have the opportunity to learn Emergency medicine while being mentored by experienced LVTs. The role allows technicians to practice at the top of their license.

Requirements

• Licensed Veterinary Technician in the State of Washington.
• High School diploma.
• Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician Program or equivalent.
• A.S. Veterinary Technology.
• Passing score of VTNE.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Consistent and reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations.

Nice To Haves

• ER or CCU experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform restraint, venipuncture, IVC placement, and collect accurate vitals.
• Learn and apply skills required to save lives in an emergency setting.
• Interface with staff and clients using tact, patience, and professional courtesy.
• Perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices and estimates.
