About The Position
Destination Pet is hiring a Licensed Veterinary Technician for Culebra Creek Veterinary Hospital, a well-established, full-service small-animal general practice in San Antonio, Texas. The hospital has two dedicated DVMs, an experienced support team, and a state-of-the-art facility with medical, surgical, dental, diagnostic, and preventative-care equipment. The practice emphasizes current clinical advancements and follows AAHA technician-utilization guidance. The LVT is encouraged to work at the top of their license and serve as a clinical leader focused on medical excellence and patient-first care. Clinical work includes anesthesia and analgesia, dentistry, diagnostics, nursing and triage, and workflow leadership. Career growth is supported through a structured technician ladder, skill checkoffs, paid precepting, and leadership training. The position is full-time, with flexible scheduling options and a predictable weekend rotation. The wage range is $23.00–$24.00 per hour.
Requirements
- Must hold a valid Texas Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) state license.
Responsibilities
- Provide anesthesia and analgesia, including IV catheterization, multimodal pain management, induction, and advanced patient monitoring and recovery.
- Perform dental radiography, charting, and periodontal therapy under DVM direction.
- Conduct radiography and positioning, in-house laboratory analysis, and sample collection.
- Monitor critical patients, provide advanced wound care, and manage catheters and feeding tubes.
- Lead technician appointments and team huddles, and mentor assistants and externs.
