About The Position

Tuckahoe Animal Hospital and Pet Center is hiring a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician to provide skilled patient care and exceptional client service. The role involves supporting veterinarians with examinations, surgery, anesthesia, recovery, and other technical procedures, while communicating with clients and maintaining accurate records and a clean, well-stocked clinical environment. The position offers a mix of half- and full-day shifts. Hospital hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM; Wednesday from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM; and every other weekend, with Saturday hours from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Sunday hospitalized-patient care from 8:00 AM to finish and 4:00 PM to finish. The hospital is in Westchester County, New York, directly outside the Tuckahoe Metro-North train stop. Requirements

New York Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) certification is required.
Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

Support veterinarians with patient care, examinations, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
Communicate clearly with clients, including providing care instructions and status updates.
Perform technical duties such as laboratory work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
Keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
