About The Position

Elko Veterinary Clinic is looking for Licensed Veterinary Technicians to join our team. Our busy, full-service mixed animal practice is seeking dedicated team members who are looking to utilize their skills and knowledge. Full-time or Part-time shifts available. New LVT Graduates Encouraged to Apply! Elko Veterinary Clinic has served Elko, Nevada and the surrounding communities since 1953. The practice has grown from a single veterinarian mobile practice to the six veterinarians bustling mixed animal practice that it is today. In 2010, it expanded to a new state-of-the-art facility next to the original building. We strive to be our patient’s advocate and enhance the quality of life for pets and owners. Requirements

Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in Nevada, or eligible to transfer/acquire state license within 3 months of hire
2+ years of veterinary clinical experience, as a veterinary technician or assistant preferred
Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
Passion for working with large and small animals, birds, exotics, and their owners
Experience with proper animal handling and restraint for a variety of species
Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Perform nursing care in a hospital or ranch setting
Dental procedure experience, scaling, polishing, extractions, suturing
Skilled in IV Catheter placement, urinary catheter placement, applying casts, bandages and splints
Anesthesia monitoring and surgical experience including intubation, monitoring, pre-operative and post-operative care
Laboratory skills including cytology set-up and interpretation
Diagnostic experience including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided cystocentesis
All other duties of a Licensed Veterinary Technician as allowable by law
