About The Position

Valhalla Animal Hospital is seeking licensed veterinary technicians to join their growing team. For over thirty years, the hospital has provided personal, loving care to pets, earning the highest customer satisfaction rating in the area. They are dedicated to providing a high standard of service and support to pet owners, building long-term relationships from puppy/kitten stages to adulthood. Valhalla Animal Hospital is equipped with the latest innovations and medical capabilities, offering wellness, dentistry, surgical, and emergency care. The clinic features an in-house laboratory, pharmacy, and radiology for diagnostics, and utilizes laser therapy for pain reduction and recovery. The hospital's hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm, and Saturday from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm. They are closed on Sundays.

Requirements

Actively Licensed Veterinary Technician, or license eligible in the state of NY
If not holding an active NY LVT license, must be eligible for taking the VTNE as well as take and pass it within 3 months of hire
High work ethic and positive attitude team member
Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work
Some Saturday availability
Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate precisely
Interpret medical records and record client history accurately
Knowledge in preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow
Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner
Proficient in sample collection to include blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin
Ability to properly set-up and process laboratory samples and tests
Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs, positioning for dental radiographs are a plus
Proficient in anesthesia and surgical monitoring
A self-starter with the desire to continue to advance one’s knowledge and skillset
Ability to receive in a professional manner constructive feedback to maintain hospital efficiency
