About The Position
North Buffalo Animal Hospital is hiring a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician to provide skilled care to patients and exceptional service to clients. The role supports veterinarians with patient care and procedures, communicates with clients, performs technical duties, maintains medical records, and helps keep the hospital’s work areas and equipment ready. The hospital is a state-of-the-art facility in Buffalo’s Kenmore neighborhood offering comprehensive veterinary services, including emergency and urgent care, diagnostics, surgery, dental services, and wellness care. Requirements
- New York Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) certification is required.
- Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
- Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
- Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
- Experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures is described as ideal.
Responsibilities
- Support veterinarians with patient care, examinations, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
- Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
- Communicate clearly with clients, including providing care instructions and status updates.
- Perform technical duties such as laboratory work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
- Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
- Help keep examination rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
- Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
