About The Position

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician with advanced anesthesia skills to support patient care across multiple hospitals. The Market Anesthesia Technician serves as an advanced clinical resource for complex cases, working with emergency and specialty teams, veterinarians, specialists, and hospital leadership. The role also includes mentoring veterinary professionals and helping promote consistent anesthesia practices across the market. The position supports complex surgical and diagnostic procedures through individualized anesthetic protocols, comprehensive perioperative care, advanced technical procedures, and close monitoring of anesthetized patients. It may require occasional support at multiple hospital locations. Compensation is $30.00–$55.00 per hour, based on experience, clinical competencies, and advancement through a competency assessment tool. VTS-credentialed technicians are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience. Applicants must have unrestricted, current authorization to work in the U.S. and must not require future sponsorship for an employment-based green card. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or sponsorship transfer.

Requirements

Current Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credential.
Advanced hands-on anesthesia experience, preferably in an emergency, critical care, or specialty setting.
Strong knowledge of anesthetic monitoring, analgesia, airway management, and perioperative nursing.
Proficiency with anesthesia equipment, monitoring technology, ventilators, and infusion systems.
Ability to recognize and respond to anesthetic complications and changes in patient condition.
Strong communication, collaboration, and mentorship skills.
Ability to provide occasional support at multiple hospital locations.
Unrestricted, current authorization to work in the U.S.; must not require future sponsorship for an employment-based green card.

Nice To Haves

VTS credential; compensation for VTS-credentialed technicians is commensurate with experience.
Experience in an emergency, critical care, or specialty setting.

Responsibilities

Support complex surgical and diagnostic procedures by implementing individualized anesthetic protocols in collaboration with veterinarians.
Monitor anesthetized patients, interpret vital parameters, recognize complications, and respond to changes in patient condition.
Perform advanced technical skills, including IV catheter placement, endotracheal intubation, and airway management.
Manage fluid therapy, CRIs, infusion pumps, and anesthesia equipment, including troubleshooting and ventilator support.
Provide perioperative care, including patient assessment, preparation, anesthetic monitoring, recovery, and post-operative management.
Maintain accurate medical records and use medical math and drug calculation skills.
Serve as a clinical resource for technicians and support staff across multiple hospital locations.
Provide hands-on training, mentorship, and guidance to strengthen anesthesia knowledge and technical skills.
Collaborate with veterinarians, specialists, and hospital leadership to promote consistent anesthesia practices and high standards of patient care.
Provide occasional support at multiple hospital locations.
