Requirements At Cara Veterinary, our Licensed Veterinary Technicians are highly valued members of the medical team who play an essential role in delivering exceptional patient care and client experiences. We are committed to helping technicians grow professionally through our structured LVT Career Ladder. Cara Veterinary utilizes a Tier 1 through Tier 4 Licensed Veterinary Technician career path. Advancement is based on a combination of demonstrated skills, clinical expertise, leadership, performance, and tenure within the organization. What You'll Do Provide exceptional patient care and nursing support throughout the patient visit. Obtain and document patient histories, vital signs, and medical information. Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and procedures. Perform laboratory sample collection and in-house diagnostic testing. Assist with radiology and imaging procedures. Administer medications and treatments as directed by a veterinarian. Monitor anesthesia and support surgical and dental procedures. Prepare, maintain, and operate medical and anesthetic equipment. Educate clients on treatment plans, medications, preventive care, and discharge instructions. Advocate for patient health, comfort, and well-being. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation. Collaborate with doctors and team members to provide high-quality patient care. Support a positive, efficient, and compassionate hospital environment. Mentor and support fellow team members as skills and experience grow.
