About The Position

PetVet Animal Hospital is hiring a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT, CVT, or RVT) for a full-time position. This role offers competitive pay based on experience and a schedule of four 10-hour shifts per week, including one weekend day. Requirements

  • Current LVT, CVT, or RVT credential in good standing—required
  • Eligibility to practice as a credentialed Veterinary Technician in Hawaii
  • Previous hands-on experience in a veterinary hospital
  • Strong technical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Confidence with patient handling, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and laboratory procedures
  • Experience with anesthesia induction and monitoring, surgery, dentistry, radiology, and nursing care
  • Strong client-education and communication abilities
  • Compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
  • Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to maintaining professional credentials and continuing education
  • Genuine passion for veterinary medicine and exceptional patient care

Responsibilities

  • Triage patients and obtain thorough medical histories, vital signs, and patient assessments.
  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, surgeries, and dental procedures.
  • Provide compassionate, credentialed nursing care from patient intake through discharge.
  • Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
  • Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, fluid therapy, and diagnostic sample collection.
  • Obtain high-quality diagnostic radiographs.
  • Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for reference laboratories.
  • Prepare patients and equipment for surgical and dental procedures.
  • Induce and monitor anesthesia while maintaining complete and accurate records.
  • Provide attentive nursing care throughout patient recovery.
  • Educate clients regarding preventive care, medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation.
  • Keep treatment, surgical, and exam areas clean, organized, and well stocked.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians and support staff to provide exceptional patient care and client service.
