About The Position
Destination Pet is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) for The Cat Clinic in Columbia, SC. This role is designed for technicians who feel underutilized and want to practice at the top of their license. The Cat Clinic is a well-established, full-service feline-only clinic with a 30-year legacy, committed to high standards of care and staying current with advancements in diagnostics, medical treatments, surgical procedures, and preventative wellness. The facility is state-of-the-art, featuring dedicated DVMs and an experienced support team, equipped with top-of-the-line medical, surgical, and dental equipment, an in-house laboratory, and ultrasonography.
Requirements
- Must hold a valid South Carolina Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) state license.
- Credentialed technicians are considered clinical drivers of patient care.

Responsibilities
- Serve as a clinical leader, ensuring medical excellence with a patient-first mindset.
- Work at the top of your license, following AAHA utilization guidance.
- Utilize skills in anesthesia & analgesia, including full IV catheterization, multimodal pain management, induction, and advanced monitoring/recovery.
- Perform dentistry procedures such as full-mouth dental radiography, charting, and periodontal therapy (per DVM direction).
- Conduct diagnostics including high-quality radiography/positioning, in-house lab analysis, and sample collection.
- Provide nursing & triage care for critical patients, advanced wound care, and managing catheters/feeding tubes.
- Lead tech appointments, team huddles, and mentor assistants/externs.
