Licensed Veterinary Technician - Overnight
About The Position
BluePearl Pet Hospital in vibrant Downtown Manhattan, NY, is seeking a passionate and skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our dedicated Emergency + Critical Care team for overnight shifts. This position offers up to a $25,000 sign on bonus based on experience. As a Veterinary Technician, you will triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital and follow them from ER treatment to admission in our intensive care unit. You will perform anesthesia for minor procedures like bite wound repairs, lacerations, etc., and perform digital radiography, utilizing sedation and other restraint/positioning techniques. Use your understanding of normal patient vital signs to monitor and identify patients who are at risk for arrest. You will have the opportunity to be certified in both BLS and ALS RECOVER CPR for free. Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration. Be proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters. Learn to place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters. Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers. Have patience and empathy to address client concerns. Additional relevant responsibilities.
