About The Position

Puget Sound Veterinary Specialty & Emergency (PSVSE) is seeking a motivated Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join their surgery team. This role offers the opportunity to work with advanced anesthesia, complex surgical cases, and a board-certified surgeon, fostering rapid skill development and significant impact. Requirements

  • Active Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credential required
  • Previous surgical and anesthesia experience required
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to anticipate surgical needs
  • Confidence in high-acuity and fast-paced environments
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A passion for learning and advancing your technical skillset

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with advanced anesthesia, analgesia, and ventilator use strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia for a wide range of surgical procedures
  • Utilize advanced anesthesia and analgesia protocols tailored to each patient
  • Operate and monitor ventilators during anesthesia
  • Assist with and support complex surgical procedures alongside a board-certified surgeon
  • Run anesthesia for CT imaging cases
  • Prepare patients for surgery, including catheter placement, lab work, and pre-op assessments
  • Monitor sedated and hospitalized surgical patients
  • Maintain sterile technique and support surgical suite efficiency
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients regarding procedures and aftercare
  • Maintain accurate, detailed medical records
  • Collaborate with ER and specialty teams for both scheduled and emergency surgical cases
