About The Position

The Hospital for Veterinary Surgery (HVS) is seeking a skilled, motivated Licensed Veterinary Technician to join their talented clinical team. This is a unique opportunity to advance your skills in a state-of-the-art, surgery-exclusive veterinary hospital in Manhattan. The role involves working as a Veterinary Nurse, rotating across various support areas and receiving training to build technical confidence in a fast-paced, well-resourced specialty environment. Requirements

  • Licensure in New York State required
  • 2+ years of experience as a Licensed Veterinary Technician
  • Experience with practice management software (ezyVet is their in-house platform)
  • Adaptability, being able to pivot effortlessly while demonstrating a positive attitude with clients and co-workers
  • Expert time management skills
  • Highly organized and acute attention to detail
  • Sound judgment with the ability to work ethically, independently, and responsibly
  • Resourceful and collaborative problem resolution skills
  • Strong and respectful written and verbal communication skills
  • Dedication to excellent service for each client and patient
  • Openness to feedback, coaching, and continuous learning

Nice To Haves

  • Anesthesia, Critical Care or ICU experience a plus
  • Candidates with a VTS in Anesthesia, ECC or Internal Medicine

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, hands-on care to surgical and hospitalized patients
  • Place and manage IV catheters, administer medications, and monitor vitals
  • Assist with blood draws, bandaging, oxygen supplementation, and patient rounds
  • Communicate with clients during check-ins, updates, and discharges
  • Work closely with a collaborative team of doctors, specialists, and fellow nurses
  • Contribute to a supportive, respectful hospital culture built on shared purpose and mutual trust
