About The Position
Veterinary Technicians at LVVSC play a vital role in both patient care and client service. In addition to core technical skills—such as patient restraint, medication administration, IV catheter placement, and phlebotomy—Cardiology Technicians will also be responsible for specialized duties within the department.
Requirements
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (required)
- Minimum of 2 years of veterinary technician experience
- Strong knowledge of anesthetic monitoring
- Proficiency in processing basic laboratory specimens
- Solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and normal vs. abnormal ranges
- Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- A positive, team-oriented attitude with a commitment to excellent client service
- Demonstrates honesty, integrity, and a willingness to learn and grow
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- All current positions require the ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently.
Nice To Haves
- Additional fluency in other languages is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and cardiologists with Echocardiograms, ECG placement and monitoring, blood pressure monitoring, Holter monitor placement and client education, sedation and anesthesia support, and interventional cardiology procedures.
- Prepare and maintain sterile procedure areas and specialized equipment.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures.
- Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and laboratory sample collection.
- Administer medications accurately and safely.
- Provide compassionate communication and education to clients.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
- Collaborate closely with specialty, ER, anesthesia, and ICU teams.
