About The Position

Priority Pet Urgent Care of Hermitage is seeking compassionate, experienced, and qualified Licensed Veterinary Medical Technicians (LVMTs) for its new urgent care facility. The clinic operates 7 days a week from 2 pm to 12 am midnight, providing urgent care for pets when primary veterinarians are unavailable. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment to support the team in delivering high-quality medicine and service. The role offers opportunities for virtual and hands-on training and continuing development for those looking to master their role or advance their careers.

Requirements

  • Active license as a Veterinary Technician required
  • 1+ year professional experience preferred but not required
  • Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts
  • Availability to work some weekends
  • Excellent client communication and medical record management skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations
  • Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques
  • Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens
  • Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture
  • Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring
  • Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards
  • Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises
  • May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases
